My road trip over spring break was a success and as usual, I have some pictures to share with you guys! Mind you for those who prefer watching videos, fear not for I have vlogged throughout the trip! Though I will upload the videos on a separate post because it's going to take forever to edit them!! (>_<)

I admit the trip has rendered me poor but it was totally worth it! And while I am stressed over my upcoming assignments that my lecturers are throwing at me, I know I can always sit back and relive those moments I had from the trip. Of course it wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for Adeline and Rique who were with me throughout. I know I basically contribute nothing except my solo concert in the car (basically entertainment lah) so kudos to you two!! Especially Rique who took all of these amazing pictures. Seriously I'm going to have to make a special post to express my gratitude towards Rique! He helped so much!!!

Pictures by Rique KS Swee.

Note: These pictures are raw, meaning they have not been photoshopped in any way. Yes, NZ is THAT beautiful.

Our first pit stop of the day was Te Anau but we made a slight detour to Catlins (which I've been there once but was too lazy to blog about it) since Rique needed to witness the pure beauty of Nugget Point. Personally it is my favorite view ever in the South Island.

Caught in action! I was vlogging as I made my way up to the lighthouse. The wind was soooo strong!

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you...The Nugget Point!

Um yeah, candid shot of Adeline and me ber-drama with the crazy wind.

I look so HAPPY! Well, the strong wind totally blew my stress away!

The wind was so strong that my scarf was like raging around me.

Us on the way down, back to the car.

As we get our bums back into the car, Adeline and I pretty much dozed off because of motion sickness and the next thing I knew, we were in Invercargill for a lunch stop. Not for me but for Ms Bock and Mr Swee lah. We decided to relax and eat at the Queen's Park.

The rose garden. It was just the first day of Spring so no roses yet. Too bad. The view would've been amazing.

I did a bit of studying while the other two ate their lunch.

I have this thing against pigeons and ducks. They make me feel like kicking them. Especially this duck, look at it. Don't you think its face is begging to be kicked?

Yes.

Those are my feet.

About 4 hours later (a total 8 hours in the car), we finally reached Te Anau. It was just in time for iftar and we stopped by this lake to witness the sunset and I ate a sandwich there.

After checking in at YHA Backpackers, we went out to find food. Te Anau caught me by surprise because it is pretty much a dead town. And it was only 8pm! Everything is closed except this Italian place which serves overpriced pasta. Personally, I didn't like it. :(

See something special?

I swear to God, you can find Malaysians anywhere. Even in a dead place like Te Anau!

The Restaurant

After dinner, we decided to take a walk around town. Nothing much really because everything is closed by 8pm. And it was so dark! But you can see the stars clearly so we went for star gazing afterwards. My god, I highly recommend you to come to NZ if you want to do some serious star gazing. I can just take out a mat and just lie there. I would if it wasn't so cold!!

We made some serious Chinese jokes with this.

Rique: AIYOO DUN GO THERE! IT'S THE WONG WAY!

Day 2 of GSR coming soon!

Take care people and have a nice Raya!
